Le Murate’s Progetto Arte Contemporanea in downtown Florence will host the exhibition #AroundJapan / Detachment from June 4-20 featuring photographs by Turi Calafato that illustrate the contradictions of a contemporary Japan suspended between past and present. The exhibition will be accompanied by the film of Tomonari Nishikawa Sound of a Million Insects, Light of a Thousand Stars, created in 2014. The film had been buried in the area surrounding the Fukushima nuclear plant and shows the direct effects of radiation: it is a delirium of light with color graffiti that moves us to reflection.
Monday-Saturday, 2pm-8pm
