An Exhibition by Kevin Jerome Everson / Justin Randolph Thompson / Anike Joyce Sadiq
Biagiotti Progetto Arte via delle Belle Donne 39/r 50123 Florence
The future looks brighter than ever. is a two-person exhibition by Kevin Jerome Everson and Justin Randolph Thompson created for Biagiotti Progetto Arte Foundation that investigates distant aspirations and conquest over the natural world. Drawing upon a legacy of allusions as illusions and the socio political framing of Black hope, the dialogue between the works questions the prescribed climbing of the social mountain. This exhibition is a part of Black History Month Florence, a city wide initiative that consists of a multifaceted exploration of the African Diaspora, its’ history and its’ impact on contemporary Florence. The project consists of a range of lectures, film projections, book readings, art exhibitions, food events, concerts and performances that seek to link a broad network of spaces dedicated to cultural production throughout Florence and the broader community of African Diasporic Peoples local to Florence. The exhibition will feature a text by Andrew Smaldone and two works by Anike Joyce Sadiq.
