Film Festival that Explores the Diversity of Contemporary Italy

Throughout the month of June, as part of the Estate Fiorentina 2016, Italy’s largest ‘interdisciplinary’ culture and arts festival,  which lasts for 6 months from May through September, the Festival dei Popoli Documentary Film Festival will organize a series of open air film screenings in Piazza Santissima Annunziata under the title ‘New Italians’.

A day in the life of the keeper of the cemetery of Lampedusa; disagreement within the Ethiopian community over a fascist monument; a soccer team composed of migrants and Neopolitans; these are the stories that are told by three young Italian documentary filmmakers, who explore the theme of cultural and social integration in their country.
