We are not free.
We are locked inside our body.
We are tied to our history.
We are inescapably part of the past.
We continue to carry things within us that are no longer there.
We depend on light.
On darkness.
On time.
On nature.And we accept this.
But the possibility to move between reality and fantasy remains.
How far can we be influenced by that possibility?
Tuesday June 7, Wednesday June 8, and Thursday June 9 at 9:00pm Le Murate Progetti Arte Contemporanea will feature the performance Influenza by artist Floor Robert.
Influenza is a work about childhood. The point of departure is a simple drawing just like the ones children do. It prompts us to ask: What is it that moved us when we were little? Growing up, what have we lost? Children are masters of discovery, each child possessing an infinite curiosity. It is the ultimate example of body and mind joined together. This choreographic research seeks to recreate that feeling of lightness and determination.
Floor Robert is an artist born in Haarlam, Holland. She has worked as director, performer and designer for inQuantoteatro and FamigliaFuchè and as a performer in creative collaborations with Kinkaleri, TarditoRendina, SostaPalmizi and Marco D’Agostin amongst others. In 2008 Floor received The Hystrio Award special mention. In 2014 she began creating her own solo work and Influenza is her first production.
